1. Pasteuriser flow meter
An independent flowmeter will be installed on the pasteuriser skid to allow for tuning of product flows during production. The flowmeter will use a local display to indicate flow only. There will be no connection to pasteuriser pump for automated flow control. To avoid having to open the control cabinet to access the VSD a speed controller will be located on the cabinet door to adjust flowrate.

1.2 Outlet temperature probe
A temperature probe will be located after the cooling heat exchanger. This temperature probe will use a local display to indicate temperature only. There will be no automatic control of temperature, a globe valve installed on the chilled water inlet line will be used to adjust chilled water flow to achieve temperature required.

1.3 Solid state relay temperature control
To improve temperature control of the pasteuriser a solid state relay will be used in place of the existing on/off contactor to control electrical heating element. This will give a more control over the hotwater / pasteurising temperature. The new SSR will be connected to the existing temperature controller.

1.4 Hot water control valve
To further improve temperature precision a hot water control valve has been offered. The SSR will provide fine control for the hotwater and the control valve will provide precise control for the pasteurising temperature. A new temperature probe will be installed on the product heating outlet to reduce any lag time in control loop. A new temperature controller will be used to operate this secondary heating control.

1.5 Hot water level switch
Installation of a secondary level switch in the heating tank. Existing switch will remain in place to cut out heating control if water level falls to a critical point. New level switch will be used to notify operator that more water is required in the system before the heating system shuts down.

1.6 Flow valve
To allow the pump to operate at the required flowrate a simple orifice valve will be installed in the process line prior to the heat exchanger. During processing the valve will be closed to force the product through the orifice in the valve and on CIP the valve will be opened to ensure full flow is available for efficient cleaning.
